Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation New! Popular

The Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for low-income, disabled, and elderly residents of Bayonne, New Jersey, and Hudson County. Established in 1965 and part of the National Community Action Partnership, BEOF offers a comprehensive range of services aimed at promoting self-sufficiency and addressing various community needs.

BEOF's programs include:

  • Stepping Stone Academy (formerly Head Start): Promotes school readiness for children from low-income families, including those with special needs.
  • Housing Assistance: Provides rental assistance and housing counseling to combat homelessness in Hudson County.
  • Energy Assistance: Offers programs to help residents lower and manage their energy bills.
  • Nutrition Services: Delivers meals to senior citizens and others in need five days a week through the Meals on Wheels Program. We also operate two senior Nutrition Sites in Bayonne Monday thru Friday where seniors can receive a hot, nutritious meal.
  • Financial Empowerment Program: Through the Financial Empowerment program, the BEOF would like to inform and teach skills that will assist low-income individuals/families on how to better spend/save money, make educated financial decisions and have access to the necessary resources to help them achieve their goals.
  • Senior Transportation: Operates a handicapped-accessible mini-bus for senior citizens within Bayonne.
  • Weatherization Assistance: Helps low-income families reduce energy bills through home repairs and energy-efficient upgrades.
  • Lead Abatement Program

Through these initiatives, BEOF strives to empower individuals and families, fostering a more self-reliant and resilient community.
