#WelcomeWednesday: This week, NJFC welcomes Philip Morris International (PMI), a leading international tobacco company working to deliver a cigarette-free future and evolving its portfolio for the long term. For the first time in its history, Philip Morris International—has entered the U.S. market with plans to deliver its scientifically substantiated smoke-free products, which are a better choice than continuing to smoke, to America’s approximately 28 million adult smokers.In November 2022, PMI acquired Swedish Match and, together, they are combining expertise in heated tobacco and oral nicotine—including multiple Modified Risk Tobacco Product authorizations from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration—to completely switch more adult smokers to better alternatives that are a fast-growing part of today’s complex marketplace. PMI looks forward to working with NJFC members in the years ahead to meet the growing smoker demand for better nicotine choices.
